how coaching works
“If you are moving forward in your life, if you are progressing personally, professionally, emotionally and spiritually – you will be happy.” - Tony Robbins
FREE INTRODUCTORY SESSION
YOUR FIRST COACHING SESSION:
The first step is simple — and free of pressure.
Your introductory session is a chance for us to meet, talk, and reflect on what matters most to you right now: the questions you're holding, the challenges you're facing, and the kind of life or leadership you're hoping to shape.
We'll explore what coaching is — and what it isn’t. You’ll have space to ask questions, express hesitations, and get a feel for how we might work together. There’s no obligation to continue; this is about clarity, not commitment.
And if it feels right to move forward, we’ll co-create a coaching programme that feels honest, practical, and entirely tailored to you.
WHAT IS COACHING?
"Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance." (Whitmore, 2004)
Coaching is a forward-looking conversation with your best self.
It’s not about advice or instruction. It’s about partnership — two people meeting in trust, with curiosity and care, to explore what’s possible.
Coaching offers a space to pause and listen inwardly — to clarify what you want, understand what holds you back, and uncover new ways to move forward with greater purpose and perspective.
It differs from therapy or counselling, which often focus on healing the past. Coaching is rooted in the present and oriented towards the future. Many people come to coaching not because things are falling apart, but because they sense there’s more. More potential, more clarity, more ease, more meaning.
As your coach, I offer a calm, confidential space where you can think aloud, reflect deeply, and be gently challenged. I’ll bring open questions, deep listening, and insights shaped by experience — but the direction always comes from you.
"Lynne’s skills lie in her ability to build rapport, create open and transparent dialogue, and get to the heart of the matter quickly and sensitively. Her active listening, skilled questioning, and thoughtful challenges create profound and sustainable change." — Jane C, Coaching Supervisor

ACTIVITIES
Between Sessions
Coaching doesn’t begin and end within the hour we spend together. Growth often happens in the quiet in-between — in the reflections you carry with you, the small shifts you make, and the moments you start to see yourself differently.
To deepen your experience, I may suggest simple, thoughtful activities to explore between sessions. These might include:
Journalling your thoughts, patterns, or progress
Carving out time for self-care — not as a luxury, but as a necessity
Creating a vision board to give shape to your hopes and goals
Completing reflective questionnaires for deeper self-insight
Practising affirmations or confidence-building techniques that resonate with you
Each suggestion is tailored to you — grounded in your goals, your pace, and what feels meaningful. These small practices help sustain momentum, invite self-discovery, and keep the coaching journey alive in everyday life.
confidentiality
All coaching sessions are strictly confidential, as allowable by law. Your privacy is important, and no personal information will be shared without your express permission, unless there is an imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or others.

Let’s start the conversation.
If something about coaching speaks to you — even just a little — I’d love to hear from you.
Our first conversation is a free 30-minute session. No pressure, no expectations — just space to talk about where you are, what you’re hoping for, and whether coaching might be a meaningful next step.
Sometimes, the hardest part is simply beginning.
This could be that beginning.
